I was sitting on my desk doing some paper work suddenly sound ring my ear “ namaste sir” means good afternoon sir.

 I turned around and saw one lady carrying  child on her back and other old man carrying bag on his back with full of sweat. They seems like so tired, and told  “what time is it now”?? i replied its nearly four noon.

 I saw amzing face what !! “ its four”?? They start their journey at five o’clock in the morning. They told me we have to walk three hours and seven to eight hours by bus.

  I told them you have to stay here nearly two to three weeks, then they were surprised my voice what !!! two to three weeks???. They believe only injections and medications .

In this time ADC have three inpatient & four to seven outpatients in our Center. Inpatient use to be from remote & marginalized, outpatients are from in the Surkhet Vally.Generally our Children from Dailekh & Kalikot. We are providing fee- less services (treatment, lodging & fooding) for our children with one carriers. We have normal guest rooms and kitchen. But our clients are happy adjusting our facilities. We are feeling, our clients are understanding the importance of physiotherapy for there children.

Its hard to continue work as a social work at the village level of Nepal. Seriously lots of hope and work should be done by ourself to rise and fullfill the dream of the ADC as a good and service oriented organoization at surkhet.

I never thought that it is hard for me to go remote area of Nepal and work with physically challenged childrens and make them independent in their life as much as possible.But in reality now i came to know that it is possible because i went remote area of nepal who already get rehabilitation services from our center.

I went one village it will take five hours by public bus and three hours by foot and visit my old clients there i saw them they and their families have shiny face with lots of welcome to me, seven months before when i am there i feel that they havent any hope from their childrens and they are burden for them forever.

MY CHILD CAN’T SUCKS SALIVA BUT NOW SHE CAN SIT.

Ten years old my child (Kamala Bohera) never knows how to suck saliva herself. We are so much hurry about her condition and her further life, sometimes we thought thet if she is died then it is good for us and lots of people told us that we did mistake in previous life so we got that child. So we are so frustated about her life and thought that if anybody took her then my all problems will run out

One of my relatives told me about ADC Surkhet they are providing treatment for childrens like my doughter so i run there. They are agree to take my children their organisation for treatment as well food and accomodation for three weeks.

Physical therapist provide regular two seassions per day treatments and other creational activities. Now my childrens haven’t throw saliva any more and start to sit on the floor. Now my children try to stand with support.

ACD staff work lots with my children and teach me remaning home exercises and they promised me when target will meet then again they will invite me and my children at ADC for further treatment.

I have no words to give pleasure to the ADC so very much thank you for ADC and all staffs.

Sucess Story of Amrit Bogati

One month and eye was full of tears

JANUARY 1 2013

 A child with his mother came to our center with sad face and seems they dosent have any hope and joy in their life.We assisted the client and was diagnosed as a cerebral palsy. We asked them to stay here for at least one month and get treatment for him, she said “why one month?” Because still no one believe about physical rehabilitation in our country they still have belief only upon allopathic medication, they want to get medicines or injection and think it is the only solution for all the conditions. But we all advocated and a took counseling session for his mother and finally she was agreed to stay as a in-patient at ADC.For the 1st week his mother was not engaged with our rehabilitation program because she had no belief upon our treatment protocol. As the week passed, the client started to sit comfortably, he could perform lying to sit and sit to lie-down easily. then after she felt there is something called “PHYSIOTHERAPY REHABILATION” That can really recover the physically disabled one, the only thing is it takes time and we need to have patience. Yes, I and my entire rehabilitation team was so glad that we at least made one family member to learn the benefits of PHYSIOTHERAPY.

we, with a gained confidence continued our regular rehabilitation program for two more weeks and then he was able to stand with the minimal support and holding his mothers hand. His mother was so much happy and had a full trust on our treatment and she had hope to gain something more.






Under the regular effort of physical therapist and the ADC TEAM Members,his mother and he himself completed one month,now he can stand indepedently without any support, can walk with a minimal support (holding hands). At that instant her mother eye was filled with tears, tears of happiness. She says “I never thought my son could stand on his own and walk, I Am so thankful to ADC for finding him from the remote area which is very far from ADC .Thank you ,Thank you All“ I could not speak a word, I just passed a smile and said “ This is our duty madam, and this is what we,a physiotherapist is paid for”.because I had no any other words excepect to present myself with gratitude.


Now he is at his house with his mother and his mother has promised us to continue the therapy session at her house as we have trained her at the centre. We have suggested him to bring back after 2 weeks to the centre again for review and other physiotherapy session and if necessary we will admit him to our hostel agin for few more weeks.


This story is about Mr. Amrit Bogati, 7 – years/male leaving at Bhawani Vdc-7, Dailekh-Nepal which is around 70 km far from the centre and takes around 3 hours by bus and again 2 hours walk by foot to reach his house.

Now days ADC have focused on the Children With Cerebral Palsy & neurological disordered. We are incresing community visits & follow up. In our socity there are so many challanges to make eiser life for the children with C P & neurological disordered. Main challanges are appeares as ;

1) Lack of education
2) Lack of Physio-treatment awareness.
3) Geographical difficulties
4)Low socio-economic status.

ADC In Disability Movement

Dear Readers,
We would like to express our happiness that ADC is continuously participating with directly or indirectly in disability movement in this region. Actually our special target group is the children with cerebral palsy , but we would like to do more than that as possible from our side." Our small  help could big change in life of the people with disability."  that principle we always keep in our thought and action.

On the special occasion of 20th International Disability day (3rd December,2011), ADC has celebrated with participating program with Gos, NGOs, INGOs and other stake holders. We all stake holders organized a Rally from Mangalgadhi Chok to District Woman-Children Office , Surkhet. Our Main slogan was "EQUAL PARTICIPATION OF THE DISABLED FOR MAKING THE WORLD BEAUTIFUL"
